Artist Statement:

I am a self trained artist, and have been painting and selling my work since 1988 and began my career as a watercolorist. I have created over 2,000 realism paintings that include street scenes, nautical themes, landscapes, and recently, my focus is on still life. My watercolor technique produces a complicated yet detailed scene which reveals an understanding of depth and realism.

 

In 2015 I created a body of work, some 450 original paintings on canvas, using acrylic and india ink. A complete break from the realism genre, these images utilized flat planes of color, line, and collage. These images challenge the viewer to engage differently than my realism paintings do.

 

In early 2018 my work began morphing again and is continuing to today. Using acrylic paint on canvas, I am creating colorful images in the “Representative” style. Landscapes and nautical themes are the focus.

 

Since 1988 I have had paintings accepted in national and regional competitions.  My paintings are purchased by both private and corporate collectors.
