My formal training began as a visual artist in Puerto Rico. I work in a variety of mediums including, acrylic, watercolor, dip ink pens, charcoal and sometimes a mix of these. My first exhibition, En Accion (2004), featured a series of paintings capturing the movement and enthusiasm of children playing soccer.  The Latin influence of my early training continues in my often dramatic use of color and light. The sense of movement captured in my style of painting is still a key focus today.

Working in contemporary realism my subjects have included figures, horses, ballet dancers, city scapes and recently children’s books.

Raised mostly in California, but as an army brat I lived in Alaska, Ft Campbell, KY, North Carolina and Virginia all before I was 10. As an adult I have had the luck of painting and sculpting on three “continents,” though technically two were islands, Puerto Rico and Ireland. More recently I have lived in Southern Indiana after returning from Ireland and now reside in Louisville.

My wife and I are strong advocates of animal rescue, currently serving the needs and wants of three dogs and eleven cats.
