At my fifth birthday I announced to my parents that I was going to grow up and be “a doctor and a painter”. It’s been a bit of a journey since then but I’ve done the best that I can to live up to that pronouncement. I believe that everything we do in this life should be done with the intent of bringing comfort and healing into the world. I have been so incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to live out my childhood dream. I spent a lot of time during my childhood exploring forests and streams. I was completely taken by the beauty and peace of nature. My entire color palette comes from those earliest explorations. I want my work to convey a sense of peace and comfort. I deeply respect the work of artists who use their talents to challenge or educate their audiences but that’s not what interests me. There is so much turmoil and suffering in the world around us, I’m interested in providing a moment of peace and reflection. At my fifth birthday I announced to my parents that I was going to grow up and be “a doctor and a painter”.
